How do I take the prints and can I use prints already taken?
We have special no mess paper that takes your prints mess free. 
You can also use old prints already made, even if they are a bit messy, we can usually tidy them up. 
Can you print on both sides of the silver? 
Simple answer is NO as we imprint from one side. If we could turn over the soft silver clay we use, and imprint the reverse, it would push out the front imprint!
Are items hallmarked?
The products we make are usually below the legal weight 7.78g so they do not need to be hallmarked. If we did Hallmark, then the cost would increase to cover the stamping and postage and would also add a delay of up to 2 weeks in returning finished keepsake, as we would have to send items to be tested & hallmarked by the Assay Office so we do not make keepsakes above this weight.
Can anything be engraved on the back of the pendants?
We can engrave a short message on the back of most pendants, we do charge an additional fee for a short message, but please note, this also delays the return of the finished keepsake by 3 days.
How many prints and names can you fit on a keepsake?
We can usually fit 2 prints on pendants, the larger dog tags will fit 3 to 4 prints without making them too small and usually only one print on a charm, due to the size.
​We can also usually fit most names under each print but we always make a layout for you to approve and if we have a problem fitting long names you will have the opportunity to review and suggest alternative design and layouts.
Do you always send a layout for approval before making?
Yes, we believe that it is important that all designs, layouts and spellings are double checked before commencing work. This gives you the a chance to change your mind on layout, or style, before expensive work commences.
It is important to note, that once your approval has been given and work has commenced on the product any changes or errors cannot be rectified and a replacement would be needed. This cost would be the responsibility of the customer who approved the layout, including any associated additional postage costs.
Do you make fingerprints silver items?
Yes we do.
What is the Silver and attachments you use made of?
All imprint pendants and charms are made from a recycled silver product made in Japan. The silver is called “fine silver” and is 99.9% silver content.
All other parts, i.e. jump rings, chains, key ring, split rings etc.. are made from sterling silver, which has a lower silver content of 92.5%.
What if I need my keepsakes faster?
If you need an urgent turnaround, or have a special request, then please request this at the time of the order. and we will prioritise your order.
Do you offer discounts for large orders
We do not offer discounts for a larger orders, as we do not have the margin to offer discounts for larger orders, as each item is individually made and we do not get any economy of scale and the price is always set as low as possible for every order.
What happens if my silver tarnishes?
Tarnish happens to all silver products, we coat our products to reduce the speed of tarnish but cannot stop it completely, if you have tarnish issues and want to know how to clean and care for your silver please click here for more information

When you need to get prints to us in a hurry, or everywhere is closed due to Covid lockdown, maybe you're not based in the UK, or just in a hurry for Christmas gifts!
You can take prints by using childrens paints to make a handprint or footprint on paper to scan and email, but what if you don't have any paints and want to get your prints to us fast?

We can use a photo of a foot or hand.
You can use your phone camera or a posh SLR.

Just ensure to light the subject as good as you can and avoid shadows taking the photo directly in front of the feet or hand.
Small children will find it hard to open their palms to allow you to photograph them so you may need someone's help, but feet are another thing, they are much easier.
When your child is asleep and still it will be easier to take a good picture

​Will my silver pendant tarnish? 
is a question customers often ask and to help you answer these questions, I have compiled the answers to help us all understand the effects of tarnish on silver products.

Tarnish is the bane of both jewellery makers and jewellery lovers alike. It's disappointing and infuriating to buy a nice piece of silver jewellery with a brilliant shiny finish only to see that finish slowly darkened and dulled within months and in rare occasions in days.

When silver is new or freshly polished, it looks bright and shiny but over a period of time, that shine begins to slowly change from bright and shiny to first a light yellowing, then progressively to a deeper yellow to grey and eventually to a dark black colour/patina.

This coating that goes from light yellow to black is called tarnish or aged patina and it occurs when silver comes in contact with items that contain Hydrogen Sulphide.

• Hydrogen sulphide can be found in many items such as wool, fossil fuels, foods such as onions, eggs and materials such as rubber, paint and latex.
• If you store or wear your jewellery in environments that contain a high concentration of these materials, or if you handle your jewellery after eating a meal that contains hydrogen sulphide, it's likely that your jewellery will begin to tarnish.
• Medications in the wearer's system, especially certain antibiotics, can also cause jewellery to blacken or discolour. In some rare cases, the wearer's basic body chemistry reacts to the silver and cause tarnishing.
• Your climate also affects how fast and how badly your silver will tarnish, so if you live in a climate that has high humidity, your jewellery will tarnish much faster and more severely.

How can you slow down the tarnish affects
The sad truth is, that it's the nature of silver to tarnish, but there are ways to either slow down the tarnishing process and ways to remove tarnish from your silver jewellery safely.

Steps that can be taken to reduce the tarnishing effect.
There are number of products on the market that can remove tarnish. What you use is dependent on how severe the tarnish is.

• If the tarnishing is mild, mostly light yellow in colour, you can remove it by buffing it out with a polishing cloth.
  
• Severe tarnish, that is dark grey or black colour, will require the use of some chemical method.

​There are many silver cleaning products readily available in supermarkets in the UK, such as Silvo tarnish guard or Goddard’s silver cleaner or the Town Talk silver products.

Tarnish is caused when silver comes in contact with hydrogen sulphide. To minimize the possibility of exposure, wipe down your jewellery with the anti tarnish polishing cloth (supplied with your keepsake order), after you wear it.
This is especially important if you’ve done any cooking or intense physical activity while wearing your silver jewellery.

Store your silver in a cool, dry place like a well-lined jewellery box or velvet bag.
Avoid prolonged contact with materials such as rubber, latex, and paint that contain a high amount of hydrogen sulphide.

If you are going to store your jewellery for a long period of time, enclose the piece in a zippered plastic bag.
